There has been a lot of talk about bringing the brand new baseball stadium to The Bottom, some positive, but a lot of negative. We've spoken to several business owners located in Downtown & Shockoe Bottom who are all for the revitalization of the area, and having the plan include a new stadium. Others who live or work in the area are not as excited. There are pluses and minuses to the plan, but the City needs to hear YOUR input! Check out the full plan here...
If you are for it, sign the petition on the site, if you're not so sure, here are some meeting you may want to try to attend...

Is a blossoming flower still beautiful if there's no one there to see it? It's questionable! Don't let Richmond's Tacky Lights go unseen! Every year the minimum amount of lights to be included in the Tacky Light Tour raises! This year, houses on the list are decorating their homes & yards in over 40,000 lights! Below find a full list of houses to see whether you're driving yourself, or doing the tacky light tour!
Thanksgiving...A time to be thankful, fat, and happy, all while spending an entire day with the family. To some, this may be easy and enjoyable; others, it's a dreadful mix of boredom and the feeling that you're trapped and have no way out.
What's the solution? Bring the party! Some friends choose to invite others to serve as a protective barrier. Me? I bring the booze. There's nothing better than a quenched thirst on Thanksgiving. Even my Grandmother, who hadn't had anything in a decade, didn't want to stop at just one! So, here's a list of super easy holiday cocktails that are sure to liven up the day!
5 cups seltzer
4 cups bourbon
2 cups fresh lemon juice (from about 16 lemons)
2 cups sparkling apple juice
1 cup Simple Syrup
3/4 cup amaretto or other almond-flavored liqueur
Garnish: lemon slices and Maraschino cherries
Combine seltzer, bourbon, juices, simple syrup, and amaretto in a punch bowl. Fill with ice. Garnish with lemon slices and cherries.
Pink Champagne Punch
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup sugar
2 (4-inch long) strips lemon zest
1 cup chilled bottled pomegranate juice
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 750 ml bottle chilled pink sparkling wine or champagne
Bring water, sugar, and lemon zest to a boil in a 1-quart saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar, then boil 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and add pomegranate and lemon juice, then chill until very cold, at least 1 hour.
Just before serving, pour pomegranate syrup into a 2-quart glass pitcher and add champagne.
Chilled Cider Punch
8 cups apple cider
1 750 ml. bottle of dry hard cider
3 12 oz. bottles of ginger beer
1 1/2 cups whiskey (such as Jameson)
Juice of one lemon
Several dashes orange bitters
1 orange sliced into rounds, for garnish
Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Combine the ciders, ginger beer, whiskey, lemon juice, and bitters in a large punch bowl or pitcher. Stir to combine. Top with orange slices and cinnamon sticks. Ladle into ice-filled punch glasses
